Indian Kabaddi Player Pardeep Narwal Height, Age, Wife, Family, Bio, 5 Interesting Facts & More

Pardeep Narwal born on 16 February 1997 Sonipat, Haryana, India. He is an Indian international kabaddi player who currently plays for the UP Yoddhas in the Pro Kabaddi League and also the Indian national team. Widely regarded as the best raidersin kabaddi history, he led the Patna Pirates to three straight titles and holds a multitude of the league’s raiding records.

Early life

In the Rindhana village of the Sonipat district of Haryana, Pardeep Narwal was born into a Punjabi family, and he began playing kabaddi there. At the tender age of six, he began studying Kabaddi. At the age of eleven, he was selected for the Kabaddi team at his school. He later enrolled in the Haryana Kabaddi Academy at the age of twelve.

Kabaddi career

Narwal made his debut in VIVO Pro Kabaddi with the Bengaluru Bulls against Patna Pirates in Season 2 and featured six times that campaign, scoring a total of nine raid points.

After joining the Patna Pirates in Season 3, Narwal developed into one of the league’s top raiders. He recorded his first career Super 10 in the Pirates’ 29-25 victory over Puneri Paltan in Kolkata. With 11 points in the game, he led both teams in scoring. In the league stage of the campaign, Narwal and Rohit Kumar combined to score 194 raid points, with Narwal scoring 92 raid points in 14 matches and Kumar scoring 102 in 12 games, making them the most formidable raiding combination in the league.

In the semi-final opponent with Puneri Paltan, Narwal scored his fifth Super 10 of the season; however, an injury kept him out of the championship game. The Pirates, however, triumphed over defending U Mumba by a scoreline of 31-28 and won their maiden VIVO Pro Kabaddi title.

Pardeep assumed the role of lead raider for the Pirates after Rohit Kumar joined the Bengaluru Bulls. He had another incredible season, scoring 107 raid points in 14 league stage games and four Super 10s, the first of which came in a close 36-34 victory over U Mumba in Jaipur, where the raider scored a match-high 18 points.

Narwal continued to carry the brunt of the raiding load in the playoffs and scored eight points in the Pirates’ narrow 37-33 victory over Puneri Paltan in the semi-final, taking them to their second-straight VIVO Pro Kabaddi final. In the final against Jaipur Pink Panthers, Narwal unleashed a mammoth 16-point performance, leading the Pirates to their second VIVO Pro Kabaddi title with a 37-29 victory and won their 2nd VIVO Pro Kabaddi title in a row.

After leading the league in every raiding category and amassing 369 raid points, Narwal’s third season with the Pirates was arguably the best by a player in VIVO Pro Kabaddi history. Narwal managed one in each of Patna Pirates’ opening three games during that campaign, finishing with a Super 10 in 19 of the 26 games he participated in. He then had just one in the next four games, but he went on an eight-match winning streak with a Super 10 that ended against the Tamil Thalaivas, where he was only one point short of ten raid points. That was a relatively thin patch of play.

Narwal and the Pirates faced the Haryana Steelers in the playoffs after placing second in the Zone B standings. The raider set a VIVO Pro Kabaddi record with 34 raid points, including an eight-point raid, as the Pirates defeated the Steelers 69-30. Eliminator 3 saw Narwal lead by example once more as his team defeated Puneri Paltan 42–32 with 19 raid points. In Qualifier 2, Narwal led the Pirates to their third consecutive VIVO Pro Kabaddi final as they defeated the Bengal Warriors 47–44 thanks to 23 raid points.

In the final, Narwal maintained his incredible play, scoring 19 raid points against Gujarat Fortunegiants to help the Pirates win 55–38 and win the VIVO Pro Kabaddi title for the third time in a row.

In his team’s first three Season 6 games, Narwal scored a Super 10; however, his team lost to the Telugu Titans. Narwal followed a similar pattern in the next four matches, scoring three straight Super 10s before missing one against the same opponent in Patna. Narwal kept turning in strong performances, but the Pirates lost their way towards the end of the season and required a strong conclusion to the season in order to have a chance to make the playoffs.

Narwal scored three Super 10s in the Patna Pirate’s final five matches of the season, but the team failed to register a single win and crashed out in the league stage of the campaign for the 1st time in franchise history. This Season was also a very Interesting Season for him as he was battling against other raiders for the most Raid Points but came 2nd with 222 raid points, The third was Siddharth Desai (214) and The First Was Pawan Sehrawat (262) who was astounding for his Pro season.

In season 7, Narwal started slowly, but still became the first player to reach 1,000 points in the PKL.

In Pro Kabaddi League Season 9, he created a new unbreakable record as the first player in the league’s history to score more than 1500 raid points in his PKL career. On November 21, 2022, while playing against the Gujarat Giants at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, he set this record.
