Bhuvan Bam Early life, Education & Career

Avnindra and Padma Bam welcomed Bam into their Marathi Hindu family on January 22, 1994, in Vadodara, Gujarat. His family later relocated to Delhi. He went to Delhi’s Green Fields School and later earned a bachelor‘s degree in history from Delhi University‘s Shaheed Bhagat Singh College.

Bam’s parents died in 2021 from a COVID-19 infection.

Bam started his online career by posting a video in which he made fun of a news reporter for questioning a woman insensitively about her son’s death from flooding in Kashmir. After the video gained popularity in Pakistan, Bam was motivated to launch his own YouTube channel in June 2015.

BB Ki Vines

Bam plays the role of an urban teenager in the 2–12 minute videos on the YouTube channel BB Ki Vines, which show his wacky interactions with friends and family. He had 16 million subscribers on his YouTube channel as of 2020. He is known for playing characters like Bhuvan, Banchoddas, Sameer Fuddi, Titu Mama, Bablu, Janki, Mrs. Verma, Adrak Baba, Mr. Hola, Papa Maakichu, Detective Mangloo, Dr. Sehgal and Babli Sir.

Bam records the videos with the front camera on his phone. Before switching to YouTube, he used Facebook as the platform for his video uploads.

Works

Bam released the music video for “Teri Meri Kahani” in August of 2016. “Sang Hoon Tere”, “Safar”, “Rahguzaar”, and “Ajnabee” came next. Alongside Dibya Dutt, he starred in the short film Plus Minus, for which he received a Filmfare award. Shah Rukh Khan was the first guest of his brand-new digital series on YouTube, Titu Talks, which he launched in December 2018.

He posted the song “Ajnabee” to his YouTube channel in 2019.

In order to better understand the challenges that people are facing during the COVID-19 lockdown in India, Bam conducted interviews with an electrician, housekeepers, farmers, transgender people, and milkmen for his Titu Talks episode “Lifeline of Society,” which was uploaded in May 2020.

He declared in a statement that his uploaded videos had received 3 billion views overall in January 2021. He launched the eight-episode web series Dhindora on YouTube in October of the same year.

He debuted on OTT in January 2023 with Taaza Khabar. In the same month, he was seen in Amazon miniTV’s Rafta Rafta opposite Srishti Rindani.

Bam received attention in the Hindustan Times‘ April 2019 brunch cover story. In the same year, during July, Bam also featured on Rolling Stone’s cover.

Bam was featured on the cover of Grazia India in January 2020, working with Puma. In the same month, he made his presence at the World Economic Forum and the next month, he featured in Forbes 30 Under 30 list in the “Digital Content Creators” category.

In October 2021, Bam again featured in the Hindustan Times brunch cover story.
